Vish is a colour management platform built for hair salons — pairing an iPad app with a Bluetooth scale to track and record product use in real time. I joined the team to untangle a frustrating user experience, starting on the salon floor and working my way back to the screen. The result was a cleaner, more intuitive app that stylists actually wanted to use.
Role outline
- Conducted on-site user research, interviews, and journey mapping to uncover pain points and inform design decisions
- Built personas and identified gaps in functionality across key task flows within the application
- Delivered UX and UI updates including pattern libraries, system messaging, and empty state prompts to guide users through core workflows
- Redesigned friction-heavy interactions including Bluetooth scale registration and formula selection
- Led a full interface overhaul targeting new markets, producing feature-complete high-fidelity designs in Figma and InVision
- Worked closely with developers through detailed handoff, annotations, and ongoing collaboration
- Redesigned dashboard analytics to surface actionable data, empowering salon owners to track ROI and improving overall salon retention
- Produced design assets supporting funding initiatives alongside marketing materials including social ads, one-pagers, and grant copy
